About Us
In 1926, the first textile factory in Venezuela, Telares e Hilanderías Maracay, was founded with the purpose of producing cotton fabrics for the manufacture of drills, calicoes, hand cloths, blankets and sheets among other products.
In the mid-1950s, a group of Venezuelan businessmen, led by Don Esteban Zarikian, acquired this factory, which from that moment on was renamed C.A. Telares Maracay.
Over time, thanks to professional and visionary management, the factory grew and new textile companies were added to C.A. Looms of Maracay to form what is known today as Grupo Telares Maracay, one of the most important textile conglomerates in Latin America.
Currently, GTM is recognized for the quality of its products, its seriousness, the faithful fulfillment of its commitments, and its vision of contributing with its work to the generation of jobs and wealth in Venezuela; and the investment and reinvestment in its infrastructure and technologies to continue being a benchmark in the textile area.
From the land, where it produces cotton, a fundamental piece in the manufacture of its products, through production centers, to distribution companies in Venezuela, the Telares Maracay Group offers the national and international market a wide variety of products such as flat fabrics for various uses, clothing, non-woven fabrics for the diaper, mattress and medical disposable industries; geotextiles for the agricultural, oil and construction industries; and green thermofusion pipes based on polypropylene.
